The Wigtownshire Junior Golf League was held at Portpatrick Golf Club on Thursday 13th August.
On a beautiful sunny day, twenty-eight young golfers represented the Wigtownshire Clubs in a 9-hole format played on the Dinvin Course.
Local PGA Professional Chris Robinson was on hand to view the future of Wigtownshire Golf and was very impressed with the standard.
Chris said: “Events like today give the next generation of golfers the perfect platform to demonstrate their skills and learn the art of playing the game. The skill level and execution of shots were of a high standard but as importantly the etiquette and life skills the players showed were exemplary. This all bodes well for the future of golf in our area.”
Home advantage proved to be decisive as the Portpatrick Junior team stormed to victory by a margin of fifteen points. Wigtown and Bladnoch finished second with 72 points, closely followed by Stranraer on 70 points.
