Stranraer Football Club’s coaching day for local school children took place at the town’s 3G pitch recently.
As part of the fun on the day over one-hundred school children, cheered on by their friends and families, took part in the Stena Line Superfast competition with prizes for the winning school and fastest individual.
Diane Poole OBE, Head of PR and Communications, Stena Line, said: “It was wonderful to see so many children from the area take part in our fun competition. Congratulations to the winners and we are very much looking forward to welcoming them aboard our Superfast ships very soon.”
Ten year old Moray Ferguson, who attends Castle Kennedy Primary School, won a return family sailing from Cairnryan to Belfast and Sheuchan Primary School won the team event earning them and their whole class a trip onboard the Superfast ship.
Stephen Aitken, Manager, Stranraer Football Club said: “It is important to the club to give something back to the local community so with the help of our sponsors for the last 26 years, Stena Line we put together a coaching day. We wanted the kids and their families to have a great day out but to also learn the importance of exercise.
“The Stena Line Superfast competition certainly made the kids run that little bit faster and we’d like to thank them for their continuing support.”
