Sorbie Bowling Club open day

Sorbie Bowling Club opened for the new season last Sunday with the honour of delivering the first jack being handed to

Sean Siddle.

Club President, Michael McGuinness, said: “ It was a pleasure to have Sean deliver the first jack. He is an enthusiastic member of the club, and has been a great help preparing the green for the new season.

The opening day was a great success, with 17 players taking part in a round-robin competition.

The members were lucky to have a mostly dry, if rather cold afternoon.

A club spokesperson said: “Thanks to all who took part, and also to those who helped with the teas and raffle. We look forward to some good weather, and wish all the clubs a successful season”.

Sorbie sweep nights take place on a Tuesday and Saturday evening, starting at 7.00pm.
