Saints can go top with win

St Cuthbert Wanderers have the opportunity to go to the top of the South of Scotland League table and increase their goal difference this Saturday when they play bottom placed Dumfries YMCA in Dumfries.

With present leaders Edusport Academy playing cup football it would be a great shock of Saints do not take advantage of this to take over the league lead and in fact when they do so they look like they could stay there until the end of the present campaign.

Lochar Thistle will be on a high following last weeks devastation of Heston Rovers by six goals to nil when they travel to play Fleet Star at Gatehouse and are more than capable of taking the three points from this encounter.

The final league match is at Trammondford Park where Wigtown and Bladnoch lock horns with Crichton for a contest that could well go close although home advantage may hold the key to this result.

Creetown entertain a young Queen of the South team at Castle Cary Park in the third round of this seasons Challenge Cup with the visitors being strong favourites to progress in this particular competition.

In the quarter final of the SFA South Regional Cup Edusport Academy once again fly the flag for South football when they take on Civil Service Strollers and it is not beyond Edu to progress to the semi-final stages of the competition.
