Ryan Centre Clubs raise £1464 for Sport Relief

USERS of Stranraer’s Ryan Centres and users came out in force to raise money for Sports Relief during the months of March and April.

Park Learning Centre, the Adult Resource Centre and the Chair-Based Exercise Group all went the extra mile, and in some cases 10, to raise money for the charity.

The Galloway Strollers also joined in the fun with a “Midday Meander” around Stranraer town centre. All ages and abilities joined in with a “Little Movers Mini Marathon” for the juniors, while the adults put in their mile during a Zumba session.

“The Sunny Stranraer Seaside Mile” saw runners put in the official mile at Agnew Park. Local GP Dr Ranald Spicer also swam 5k for the Big Splash Sports Relief mile raising a considerable amount of money in the process. (More information on the Big Splash is available from the Ryan Centre). The total raised from all activities was an amazing £1464.35.
