Galloway Branch of the Pony Club held their first Winter Camp last weekend.

A fantastic turnout of 24 members left their ponies at home to go to Cardoness Holiday Estate near Gatehouse for a weekend of theory and fun. Anne Jolly and Kim Armstrong instructed the girls in aspects of riding and pony care, preparing them for Pony Club assessments which they will be taking in the near future.

Ella Wallace won the award for best junior student, Jessica Hannay produced the best feed chart, Cara Sloan designed the most desirable tack room and the scavenger hunt was won by Amy Hall, Lucy Fisher, Jessica Hannay and Becky Dalrymple. The closing quiz was hotly contested and won by Carolyn Fisher and Krissie Ramsay.

Many thanks to the Hannay family for providing such lovely accommodation and a beautiful setting for the weekend. The home baking provided by Galloway mums was delicious as usual and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

We hope the ponies have enjoyed their restful weekend as they have a busy spell with lots of events coming up! For more information about Galloway Branch of the Pony Club go to http://branches.pcuk.org/galloway/
