Twenty-seven brave anglers turned up to face the wet weather for the second match of The Scottish Seven Series at the Three Lochs, near Kirkcowan. Dismal weather produced a slow day with missed opportunities and chances.
Johnny Hughan got off to a fine start 15 minutes into the match with a 2.7kg pike which along with a 0.46kg brought him the match with an overall bag of 3.16kg and the £100 prize money.
Matt Dunsmore got second place with a 1.62kg fish winning a weekend stay at The Three Lochs Holiday Park.
All together a total of 14 fish were caught during the day with the competitors sticking it out till the end in a match where one sizable fish could have won the day.
Hopfully the weather and the fishing will be better for the next match at Loch Ronald on Sunday, June 19. Please be at the Loch for 9.00am (drawn to start at 9.30 for 10.00am start).
