Kirkcudbright Club held its annual club shoot on Friday evening, June 7, when 22 guns turned up to contest the event, which consisted of 25 birds down the line.

At the end of the evening the winner was Peter Allison of Minnigaff, clean on 75, but only after a shoot-off with Findlay Bell of Whithorn, who took the runner-up trophy.

The veterans’ trophy was won by Bryan Carson of Gelston on 74 and the junior winner was Ben Spence, also of Gelston, on a very commendable 71.

The winners of the side trap, which was organised as usual by Douglas Brown, were: 1. D McCulloch, 2, F Bell and 3. D Owen.

The leading scores were: P Allison, F Bell (75); D McCulloch, B Carson (74); D Owen, A McKeand (73); J D Brown (72); B Spence (71); C Maxwell, A Gordon (70).
