The Paul Jones Festival is a 7 a-side football programme organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council and open to all Stewartry primary schools.
Earlier in the year there were two qualifying festivals: one for the Castle Douglas and Dalry cluster schools and one for the Kirkcudbright and Dalbeattie cluster schools. The top three teams from each festival were entered into an A league festival, and the remaining teams were entered into a B league festival. At the league festivals this week all teams played each other again in a round robin format with the top two teams from both leagues qualifying for an A and B league final which will be hosted later in the year.
The B League Festival was held at Dalry Primary School on Monday 29 April 2013 with Dalry, Crossmichael, Borgue, Kirkcudbright Tigers, Dalbeattie B and Twynholm taking part. Crossmichael and Dalry qualified on the day and will now go forward to compete for the B League trophy.
The A League Festival was held at Gatehouse Primary School on Tuesday 30 April 2013 with Castle Douglas A, Castle Douglas B, Gelston, Kirkcudbright Lions, Dalbeattie A and Gatehouse taking part. Castle Douglas A and Kirkcudbright Lions qualified on the day and will now go forward to compete for the A League trophy.
