FORMER players from St Cuthbert Wanderers and Threave Rovers rolled back the years to turn out against their old derby rivals in the Willie McKenzie Memorial Trophy on Saturday with Threave taking the win 4-1.

Despite the wild weather, former players from various eras turned out to remember the late Gazette contributor who served as club secretary for more than 40 years. The game raised £400 for local Marie Curie nurses, including a very generous donation of £120 from Threave Rovers. Afterwards, the McKenzie family offered thanks to all the players, many of whom had travelled a long distance, and to the referee and managers of the respective teams, Kenny Maxwell and Paul McGinley.
