Newton Stewart curler Jodie Milroy, playing lead stones for Stirling’s Katie Murray, looks set for the playoffs in the Scottish Junior Championships taking place this week at Curl Aberdeen.

The team have won all their round-robin games at the time of going to press and top the table in their section.

Stranraer junior curlers taking part in the competition include Katie Wright, Lauren Morgan, Rachel Mills and Kara Compton, Vicky Wright, Bobby Lammie, Neil Topping, Euan Kyle, Gregor Cannon, Frazer Shaw and Callum Lammie.

The competition started on Tuesday and the semi-finals and final will take place on Sunday.

The winners will represent Scotland at the World Junior Championships in Flims, Switzerland, from February 26 to March 5.

Draw for Biggar Cup, sponsored by Penkiln Builders Merchants, to take place at Stranraer Ice Rink on Wednesday, February 5th:

12.20pm - Minnigaff No 2 v Jak Kane, Wigtown; D Paton, Penninghame v J Maxwell, Glasserton; Miss R Mills or G Penrose, Glasserton v D Wilson, Kirkmabreck.

2.40pm - G Adams, Kirkcowan v JT Cannon, Wigtown; F Galloway, Glasserton v W Scott, Penninghame; J Wilson, Kirkmabreck v A McClymont, Minnigaff.

All games ten ends or time. Highest up club wins the trophy - highest up rink in wining club wins prizes.

Entry money of £4 per rink is payable with ice money.
