Neil heading for Worlds in Dumfries

Neil Fyfe from Portpatrick will take part in the world senior curling championships in Dumfries this April after his team won the men’s Irish senior challenge last weekend.

Fifty-one-year-old Stranraer-based police sergeant Neil is part of a six-man squad of players consisting of Johnjo Kenny, Bill Gray, David Whyte, Tony Tierney and David Hume.

In the best of five challenge, the Kenny team beat Peter Wilson’s team by three games to two. Team Wilson included two other Stranraer Ice Rink curlers, skip Peter and sub-skip PJ Wilson.

The world seniors takes place at Dumfries Ice Bowl from April 23 to 30.
