Motorcross brothers roar to success

As one motorcross racing season comes to an end a new season begins for brothers Robert and Graeme Smith of Glasserton.

Once again they have both had another successful year on the junior motorcross circuit.

Fourteen-year-old Robert qualified to compete for Team Cumbria at Mallory Park in the Big Wheel 85cc class. He finished fourth in the West Cumbria Club, third in Northern Youth Club, second in Cumbria Club, and fourth in East Cumbria Club. He also won the trophy for “Most Improved Cumbrian Rider” and second overall in the Northern Centre Clubs. At Orkney he was ninth in the Beach Race, and at Lochhouse he finished third overall in the winter series.

Ten-year-old Graeme competes in the 65cc Class and was seventh at Northern Youth, eigth in Cumbria, seventh in East Cumbria, fifth at Lochhouse Winter series and also competed at Orkney.

Both boys will move up a class next season.
