Magnificent seven for Stranraer

The annual general meeting of Stranraer Ice Rink Curling Club saw the members reflect on a terrific season that has produced seven medals at international level.

Gold medals were won at the Junior World Championships by Bobby Lammie and Gregor Cannon; gold at the World Senior Championships went to Christine Cannon; Vicki Adams won silver at the European Championships; World Senior Championships bronze medals went to Peter Wilson and Peter JD Wilson and finally, a bronze at the European C league was won by Andrew Gilmore.

Andrew also picked up his trophy for winning the end of season points competition at the ice rink, with an excellent total of 56 points.

The new President of Stranraer Ice Rink Curling Club for the 2016-2017 season is John Ferguson, who took over from retiring President Colin Dalrymple.
