Viking invasion

THE golf courses of Galloway were invaded by Vikings this week as the 10th annual Kirkcowan-Danish Open got underway.

The Danish golfers have based thenselves at The Bruce Hotel in Newton Stewart, where our photgrapher caught up with them yesterday morning, before they headed off to plunder another links gem.

This popular event, for both the visitng Danes and their Scottish hosts, is organised by Kirkcowan resident Jack Parker, who was delighted to see the visitors enjoying their golf on spectaular courses in perfect conditons.
