A touring team of keen curlers from the USA arrived in Stranraer last Wednesday as part of their three-week long tour of the ice rinks of Scotland.

The Americans played four teams from the Rhins O’ Gallowa’ Province in the morning - losing all four games. In the afternoon they played four rinks the Galloway Province, winning two games and losing two.

No one had a more exciting day that Galloway Province curler Forsyth Galloway, who had to attend to a fire near Whithorn in the morning as part of his part-time firefighter duties before taking on, and beating, the Americans in the afternoon.
