RBS fund local youth rugby

NEWTON Stewart Rugby Football club will receive added support this season from their local RBS branch following the launch of the new domestic season, including a £500 donation.

As part of its wider partnership with Scottish Rugby, RBS is the new domestic league sponsor, and has introduced number of initiatives designed to support, raise awareness and enhance the game of rugby in Newton Stewart and across Scotland.

The new funds will be used to help Newton Stewart rugby club with their youth development programme.

Jennifer Little, who works in the bank’s Newton Stewart branch and is the local RBS Rugby representative, said: “Rugby is at the heart of many communities across Scotland and we recognise the difference that the game can make. Club rugby is the life-blood of the game and our support programme will help clubs and the people who are so passionate about their success.

“The programme offers more than simply financial support. It is about helping clubs become sustainable for the long term. I’d like to wish Newton Stewart RFC the best of luck this season both on and off the pitch.”

Gregor Christie from Newton Stewart RFC said: “The support local RBS Rugby Rep Jennifer and the staff at RBS Newton Stewart branch have given us is greatly appreciated. The £500 is being put towards youth development in the club which will help us now and in the future.”
