Kirroughtree Duathlon
HARDY runners and cyclists pushed their way through the soaring temperatures at Sunday's Kirroughtree Duathlon, testing their stamina to the limit.
With 75 entrants in this year's event on the Twister route of the 7stanes course, the cyclists and runners managed to complete the event without incident - if a tad warm at the end.
Clair Scaife, co-owner of The Breakpad at Kirroughtree who organised the event, said the day was a success despite the 22 heat.
She added: "It was a glorious day, very warm so quite a challenge for the participants but they managed.
Clair said that although there were spectators, there weren't as many as the organisers would have liked to see.
She said: "We'd like a bit more community involvement next year, it would be great to see a few more people turn out to watch the event and even take part."
The route sees cyclists ride 17 kilometres and runners complete a 10 kilometre track.
