Local sides all in action

Newton Stewart RFC will be hoping to return to action tomorrow (Saturday) in RBS West Division One after two successive weeks of postponements.

The Reds are scheduled to entertain Annan at Bladnoch Park following the call-off of last week’s home fixture against East Kilbride.

If the game goes ahead, with a 2pm kick-off, Newton Stewart will want to return to winning form with a good display.

Annan have so far shown inconsistency, with seven defeats and two wins in the league this season.

Stewartry will also hope to return to winning after last week’s narrow loss. They travel to Strathendrick in RBS West Division Two, also with a 2pm start.

And Wigtownshire are in action in the West Regional Bowl competition semi-final, returning to the scene of last week’s victory at Arran. Having beaten their hosts in the league last Saturday, ’Shire will be confident of progressing to the final, but will have to hit top form to do so.
