On Sunday, at Orbiston Bowling Club, the annual Vice President’s Trophy took place for the Under 14 bowlers across Scotland.

Wigtownshire’s entries came from Newton Stewart and West End Bowling Club and were as follows:

Lewis Rennie (West End) & Adam Cairnie (West End) Ethan Baillie (West End) & Fiona Roddie (Newton Stewart). There were 10 rinks in all from Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Glasgow and the Lothians.

The Wigtownshire team performed well in all five games with some exceptional shots being played.

Unfortunately this year there was a very high standard and Wigtownshire only manged two points from a possible 10. But it was felt by those that travelled to support them, that it was great experience for the youngsters who gelled well together and functioned as a team should.

The Wigtownshire Under 25’s President would like to thank all the parents and relations for their help in bringing the players to Bellshill and their support throughout the day.
