Hole in one could win you a car

In October this year, thirty two students from Kirkcudbright Academy are going on what they hope will be a life changing expedition to Mongolia.

Many fundraising events are taking place in the local area and on Saturday, May 5, at Kirkcudbright Golf Club there is a golf competition with a unique twist.

Pupil organiser, Hugh McDavid, with the help of Alastair Millar from Kirkcudbright Academy is putting final touches to the big day.

Hugh commented: “I wanted something a bit different to give the competition added appeal, so with the help of local garage Rogerson Motors, we have arranged that any hole in one on the day at the 16th will win a car to the value of £10,000. The local golf clubs have also been extremely generous and we have secured some fantastic prizes including a four ball on Southerness. Our main prize - a four ball on the Kintyre course at Turnberry - is being kept for a silent auction on the day.”

Entries can be arranged through your local golf clubs or by ringing Alastair Millar on 01557331887.
