Jim and Christine Cannon from Wigtown Curling Club won the Galloway Province Doubles Christmas Challenge at Stranraer Ice Rink last Friday night with two wins and a score of plus 11 shots.
Twelve pairs entered the challenge and at the end of two rounds of play, the Cannons were four shots ahead of their nearest rivals, the combination of Peter JD Wilson and Kate Adams, the guest team from the Rhins Province invited for the event.
At the end of the competition, RCCC area rep Hugh Templeton congratualted the winners and the runners-up and thanked all the teams for playing in only the second doubles competition held at Stranraer Ice Rink. He then asked Anne Wilson to present the prizes of wine nad chocolates.
