The semi finals of the League Cup take place this weekend with two very interesting ties in prospect.

Newton Stewart entertain Heston Rovers at Blairmount Park while Threave Rovers play hosts to Mid Annandale at Meadow Park.

Both ties look very evenly matched with perhaps the home sides starting as slight favourites.

Newton Stewart and Heston always produce very close and entertaining matches when they meet and there is nothing to suggest that things will be any different this time around and with both sides having good and consistent goalscorers within their ranks.

The contest at Castle Douglas could also go close although Threave will start as favourites. However an on-form Mids are more than capable of reaching the final.
