STENA Line has signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with Stranraer FC for the 2011/12 season.

This will be the 24th season of partnership between the leading ferry company and the club which is thought to be one of the longest standing unbroken sponsorship associations in British football.

Paul Grant, Route Director of Stena Line said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Stranraer FC for the 2011/12 season. Over the years we have experienced the highs and lows of Scottish football together and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the manager, team and the dedicated supporters every success in the year ahead.

“We are also delighted to be helping Stranraer FC with their pre-season preparations by once again hosting the Stena Cup. This year Stranraer FC will be joined by St Mirren from Scotland and from Northern Ireland, Coleraine and Glenavon will compete in the two day tournament at Stranraer’s Stair Park home ground on July 16-17. Best of luck to all the competitors.”

Alex Connor, Chairman of Stranraer FC said: “Everyone at Stranraer FC is delighted that our long running association with such a high profile international company as Stena Line is to continue for at least another year and hopefully further. Stranraer FC are the oldest professional club in the SFL but none the less a forward thinking one that feels it can only benefit and learn from its tie up with such an innovative, customer orientated  brand such as Stena Line.”
