Kirkcudbright Gun Club opened the shooting season on Sunday, April 7, with a turnout of 27 guns in cold but dry and occasionally bright conditions.
The shoot consisted of four events and, at the end of the day, the winner and High Gun was Douglas Brown of Newton Stewart on 145 points.
Douglas also won Member’s High Gun for the best score in Events 2 and 3 clean on 75 points.
The Domenichelli Trophy for the best score in Events 1 and 4 was won by David Thomson of Cumnock on 71.
The leading veteran was A McKeand of Newton Stewart on 142. The ladies winner was Helen Coates of Thornhill and junior winner was Scott Carson of Gatehouse.
