The old Stranraer Darts League committee was dissolved this week and the new committee were picked at the AGM meeting.
Chairman this year is Rab McCulloch, vice chair is Wendy Davis, secretary is Jim McCulloch, treasurer is Gavin Heron and match secretary is Martin Lindsay .
Rab McCulloch then proceeded with the meeting asking if anyone wanted to bring up anything for the coming season.
He then proposed that when the teams have paid their entry into the 2014/2015 season that their entry fee is non-returnable - this was passed unanimously.
Rab McCulloch then brought up that in the four-man and three-man team events all teams in the leagues must send at least one team for both competitions. This was also passed unanimously.
Jim McCulloch then proposed that the league opens up its membership to anybody from anywhere who wants to play darts in the league, the boundaries stay the same but if anybody wants to travel to any team in the league and sign for that team then they should be allowed to do so. This was passed unanimously.
Doit Kiltie then brought up that in the A league there should be an even number of teams eliminating the chance of free weeks, this also was passed unanimously. He also said that if a team cancels their Wednesday night game they must play this game by the following Tuesday or the team that cancelled forfiets the points - this also was passed unanimously.
Rab McCulloch then said that in the case of teams that do not come up from the B league to the A league the players from that team, if the team disbands, then must try and find a club in the A league. If they cannot find a team in the A league then they will be given the chance to join the B league but will not be with the team that refuses to come up to the A league.
It was also discussed that if a team cancels it must be 24 hours before a league game is due to be played if they cancel under 24 hours they lose their home game to the team they are playing.
It was also discussed that the format for the A league and the B league will be the same as last season; A league, 6 man team, best of 5 and B league, four man team best of three.
The league as it stood at the AGM will have 16 teams this year, eight in both leagues.
Subscription for this year is; A league £70, B league £50. This must be payed at next week’s meeting in the Bar Pazz at 7.30pm. Any new teams must attend and register and also pay monies on this night.
