Darren is high gun at club shoot

The annual Kirkcudbright Gun Club shoot, restricted to club members, was held on Friday, June 6 with a good turnout of 26 members.

There were good conditions for the event and at the end it was Darren Owen of Gatehouse of Fleet who was High Gun, clean on 75/75.

After a shoot-off with club captain, Willie Little, the runner-up was Douglas Brown of Newton Stewart on 74/75.

Willie Little won the Veterans Trophy on 74.

The junior winner was Ben Spence of Gelston on 62 and the ladies competition was won by Helen Coates of Thornhill.

The side trap, organised and run by Douglas Brown, was won by Findlay Bell of Whithorn, the runner-up was Darren Owen and third was D. McCulloch of Newton Stewart.
