THE Stranraer Young Curlers team of Gregor Cannon, Bobbie Lammie, Connor Ballantyne and Mark Munro, pictured, won the Under 17s JEM Stevenson trophy at Lockerbie Ice Rink on Sunday, beating Thomas Muirhead’s side in the final.

Another Stranraer Young Curler, Alison Fyfe, was also taking part in the weekend tournament for junior curlers.

Meanwhile, two local curlers with an Irish connection won the inaugural Irish Curling Association Mixed Doubles Championships at Greenacres Ice Rink on Sunday.

Neil Fyfe and Louise Kerr, pictured right, were undefeated throughout the four rounds of the competition. The win qualifies them to play in the World Mixed Doubles Championships, which will be held in Turkey in April next year.
