CREETOWN Community Bowling Club opened their green on Sunday under glorious sunshine.

Jim Maginess, the club president welcomed all along to the opening day and was glad to report that over thirty people had entered the American tournament to be played during the afternoon. Even in the present financial climate, Wullie Lindsay, the local butcher agreed to sponsor the opening day.

Charlie ‘Pinty’ Wilson was given honour of delivering the first jack of 2012. Pinty has been the green keeper for more than 25 years, but has decided to call it a day. At present he is still taking an active part in looking after the green by training up his apprentice, Eck Houston.
