Clubs fly flag for south in cup

Two clubs fly the flag for south football this weekend in the Scottish Cup.

St Cuthbert Wanderers travel north to play Cove Rangers for what will be a very difficult tie for the Kirkcudbright side .

Wigtown and Bladnoch play Hawick Royal Albert at Trammondford park for another tie that could be awkward for the home side but one they must stand a reasonable chance of making the first round proper .

There are six south of Scotland league matches scheduled to be played with Edusport academy having the chance to increase their lead at the top when they travel to play Dumfries YMCA.

Abbey vale will be favourites to record a victory against Fleet Star while the derby match between Crichton and Heston Rovers could go close .

Newton Stewart and Mid Annandale always seem to serve up a close match and there is nothing to suggest that this contest will be any different with home advantage maybe being the deciding factor .

Following their good result last time out Creetown will travel to Sanquhar in a confident mood and on present form may just be too good for Nithsdale Wanderers even allowing for home advantage .

Upper Annandale and Lochar Thistle lock horns at Moffat for what looks like another evenly matched encounter with a share of the spoils a distinct possibility.

On Tuesday night there is a local derby at blairmount park where Newton Stewart entertain neighbours Creetown for a match that could go either way.
