There was a good turnout again this week at Calgow show jumping with a couple of new faces joining the competition.

Mr and Mrs Robert Forsyth sponsored the evening and presented the rosettes. The x-poles seem to have more entries every week and the race for the highest league points is hotting up!

Stranraer & District Riding club

Report from 6th July 2014

Stranraer & District Riding club held a points league Show jumping at Castlefields last Sunday in glorious sunshine.

The day started with clear rounds and with no lead rein riders the classes went straight into the Starter stakes pony class where Lionnie Laing and her sister Maddison battled it out and Lionnie came out in first place.

Next saw the horses taking their turn at this height and Stephannie Singleton riding Huckleberry Pie took first place,

In the pre beginner pony class it was Rhona Baillie on Fern who had a lovely double clear to take first place.

In the horse section it was Caitlin McKie riding her lovely coloured “Dapper” who collected the red rosette.

The pre-beginner pony class sponsored by Dalrymple Plumbing and Heating was won by Eilidh Fisher on Miami Hourglass.

In the pre -eginner horse class sponsored by Fine Finish Joinery it was the turn of Emily Singleton on her horse “Zen” to take first place.

In the novice pony class sponsored by Academy Vets, Abbey Kelly on Archie took first place.

And in the novice horse class sponsored by Mr and Mrs A Torrance, first place went to Mhairi Ross on Wally who had a lovely double clear.

As the jumps went up for the Small Intermediate Pony class sponsored by Murray Farmcare Ltd Kerrin McGrane riding her pony “Ollie” won the class.

Then in the Horse section sponsored by Montpelier Accountants Leona Wallace on Saffy took first place narrowly beating Jennifer Anne McWilliam on Harry Rodgers horse “Windsor”.

The jumps went up for the Intermediate Pony class sponsored by WBS signs saw Kerrin McGrane on “Ollie” collected their second red rosette of the day.

In the horse section sponsored bt BMK Plumbing & Heating, Amy Hall on Miami Pandemonium collect a red rosette.

The class of the day was the Small Open horse class sponsored by by The Hansen Group and Harry Rodgers on Twingo took first place.

Although the entries were down due to holidays and members off eventing, a great day was had in the sunshine.
