Dedicated Braveheart boxing coaches Wullie Martin and Tom Jolly have been honoured in their home town of Whithorn when they were presented with their “Performance Coach of the Year” awards.
The awards are delivered in partnership between Dumfries and Galloway Council and Sportscotland and provide an opportunity to thank coaches for their dedication and recognise achievements across the region.
Mid Galloway Councillor Alistair Geddes said: “I am absolutely delighted that the work that Wullie Martin and Tom Jolly do for the Bravehearts has been rewarded.
“This is a tremendous example of community involvement and I would like to publicly thank Sharon Cameron for nominating both of them.
“This is a deserved reward for the time and effort they expend to make the club what it is.”
Another Whithorn man was also to be honoured for his work with kids at the Multi Games Area in Whithorn. John Kiltie has been named the Participation Coach of the Year.
Mr Geddes added: “John does tremendous work with the kids and again, this is another fine example of community spirit.”
