Congratulations to Stranraer’s Millennium Amateur Boxing Club, which has been presented with the Dumfries and Galloway Sports Club Accreditation Award.
Everyone taking part in sport has the right to be safe. Our Council’s Sports Club Accreditation Scheme is about helping local clubs to be safe, effective and people friendly and to promote this fact.
The Stranraer Millennium ABC has worked hard to achieve all operating requirements in the key areas required for the successful completion of the award. James Hilton from the Club was presented with the certificate by local Councillor and Area Committee Chair, Roberta Tuckfield.
Councillor Tuckfield said: “Congratulations to James on the completion of the award. I commend you and the Club on the dedication required for such an achievement.”
Also at the presentation were Councillor Marion McCutcheon who worked with James on gaining the award and Sports Council Chairperson Raymond Smith who offered his congratulations to James and the club.
New members are welcome and information on Club times can be found by contacting the Millennium Centre 47 George Street Stranraer phone: 01770 7000 or on Facebook.
Dumfries and Galloway Council Leisure and Sport look forward to supporting the club in future ventures.
