All to play for in Potts Cup ties

The only two matches being played this Saturday are both in the second round of the Potts Cup with Creetown playing hosts to neighbours Newton Stewart and Wigtown and Bladnoch entertaining Heston Rovers at Trammondford Park.

On South of Scotland League final placings Newton Stewart and Wigtown should record victories to progress to the semi final stages but in cup competitions anything can and may happen to upset the odds.

Creetown are a much improved side this season and are expected to push the Creesiders all the way while Heston cannot be under-estimated in their contest against Wigtown.

Monday evening sees the four second round ties of the Cree Lodge Cup being played. St Cuthbert Wanderers are expected to see off the challenge of Abbey Vale although not easily while Edusport Academy should do likewise against Upper Annandale in a match that is being played at Moffat Academy.

Heston Rovers and Wigtown and Bladnoch lock horns for the second time in three days but this time at Palmerston Park although again Wigtown will start as strong favourites to progress in this particular competition.

The final match is at Lockerbie where Mid-Annandale have Nithsdale Wanderers as their visitors and although this match could well go close the home side should keep up their winning run to see off the challenge of the Sanquhar side.
