A look ahead to a one-match weekend

South of Scotland League Cup Final – St Cuthbert Wanderers v Edusport Academy.

A 3pm kick-off at New King Edward Park, Lockerbie sees the one match scheduled to be played this Saturday with the final of the South of Scotland League Cup.

This should be a good game which should attract a large crowd with it being the only match being played this weekend.

There does not look to be much between the two finalists but with this being Edus first opportunity to land silverware in their first season in South football they will probably start the game as slight favourites to do so. Saints though have a very good experienced side and following a sticky start to the season are now in a good run of form and this contest could maybe take more than the regulation ninety minutes to find the destination of the trophy. However Edu have a large squad of players to pick from and if all their French contingent are available for selection then they could swell prove to be the stronger side but if the Kirkcudbright team hit form then they are more than capable of holding the trophy aloof come the end of the match.
