AS expected, the game of the day in Scotland last Saturday was postponed as early last Thursday, when Albion Rovers' ground Clftonhill was unable to beat the big freeze and Stranraer had for the second week running been denied a game.

No surprise here to yours truly as Coatbridge had been one of the main snow-hit towns in Scotland and the match had no chance from early in the week.
Hopefully, things will return to normal tomorrow as the Blues take on Annan Athletic at Stair Park in the New Year derby.
I have watched both games between the sides this season and there is not a lot of difference in the teams.
The early season game saw Stranraer win quite easily at Stair Park and then at Galabank in October, the Dumfriesshire side got their revenge.
The home side will have an enforced change with Paul McInnes out after an incident at a function before Christmas, so manager Keith Knox will have his thinking cap on at Hogmanay to field a winning side.
I am looking forward to the duel between Stranraer defender Murray Henderson and Annan forward David Cox – if both are picked and fit that should be an entertaining clash.
Hopefully, the Blues can kick start the New Year with three precious points and begin climbing the table.
The kick-off is 3pm and it would be good to see a big home support for this derby.
The Sportsmans' dinner at the Ryan Centre on Saturday, January 23, appears to be a sell-out and it should be a good night.
With the old year on the way out and a new one just round the corner, it's been a funny old 12 months for Stranraer FC.
The club was saved by the skin of its teeth after some heroic efforts from fundraising mainly by SOS (Save our Stranraer) and a big well done to all concerned with that appeal.
The club seem to be on a better footing to see in 2010 and with the committee pulling in one direction the club can go from strength to strength.
Also a big thank you to the organisers of the under-13 to under-17 teams and this is surely the way forward for the club.
We need a couple of gems to come out of the ranks from these young kids and things will look much brighter for the the Blues.
Although this looks like a mid-table season for Stranraer, a wee run of winning games might well give us a push for the play-offs,but it will be pretty tough.
Now, I am planning to see the New Year in from a pub seat in Wigtown, and hopefully wherever you are, have a good night.
Have a good 2010 and may your worries be wee ones.
