Carty event gets good turnout

MACHARS Riding Club was again kept busy with a huge turnout of competitors at Carty Port.

Izzy Miller-Smith and Twilight took home the red rosette in the Lead Rein class, with Kirsty Fisher on board Doughnut taking second place.
With eight forward for the Wibbly Wobbly class, it was again Izzy Miller-Smith and Twilight taking first place. Second place went to Carolyn Fisher on Doughnut, Tiff Stead and Copper third and Lucy Fisher on Robbie fourth.
The Starter Stakes class had a total of 14 entries forward, with Carla McCreadie and her new partner Tricky Business going well to claim first place. Isla Forsyth and Molly were second, Mollie Miller-Smith and Misty third and Connor Jolly and Speak of the Devil fourth.
The AB&A Matthews LLP Pony Novice class had 14 forward. This time it was Caitlin Jolly storming to victory with Blue Wicked, James Gladstone and Champy 2nd, Kate McCornick and Miami Moet 3rd and Holly Sproat and Jimbo 4th.
The North West Castle Pony Intermediate class had a huge entry of 19 forward to battle it out. Romping home for top spot was Leah Forsyth on Dundrum Misty. 2nd Meganne Jolly and Legally Blonde, 3rd Leah Forsyth and Miami Blue and 4th Caitlin Jolly and Blue Wicked.
The Fergusson & Co. Solicitors Pony Open class, with 10 forward, again saw Leah Forsyth taking the red rosette this time on board Hugh Pattersons Miami Blue. 2nd James Gladstone Miami Merlin, 3rd Jenna Stead and Copper and 4th equal Leah Forsyth and Dundrum Misty and Meganne Jolly on Legally Blonde.
Six came forward for the Pony Large Open. It saw Leah Forsyth on Miami Blue winning the class in style with the only double clear. Leah Forsyth and Dundrum Misty 2nd and 3rd James Gladstone with Miami Merlin.
The Pre-Novice Horse class saw Emily Gladstone and her new mount Widget setting the horse classes off to a good start coming home in 1st place with Arlene McNabney and Sapphire in 2nd, Lorna Wilson and new ride Harvey 3rd and Fran Stead and the aptly named Gorgeous 4th.
Fran Stead and Gorgeous led the way in the Horse Novice with Emily Gladstone and Widget 2nd, Jill Kirkpatrick and Minnie Cruise 3rd and Kate McDonald and Irish Charm 4th.
The Horse Intermediate finished with Arlene McNabney and Tiger Lily on top form to fill 1st place. Liz Jones and Evie 2nd, Fran Stead and Ard Lipstick 3rd and Mhairi McConnell and Shane 4th.
The Horse Small Open had Kerrin Forsyth on Rose Gold set a blistering jump off to win the class. Arlene McNabney and Tiger Lily jumped beautifully into 2nd spot, Fran Stead and Ard Lipstick took 3rd and Emily Peaston on Easter 4th.
The Horse Large Open ended a busy and successful day with Kerrin Forsyth on Rose Gold beating Aunty Fran and Ard Lipstick.
