A young Port William girl who was diagnosed with epilepsy last year asked for something a bit different to most youngsters at her recent borthday party.

Leah Ambrose requested donations towards Epilepsy Scotland instead of presents and invited everyone to a party on Scotland’s Purple Day, March 26, to celebrate her sixth birthday.

And now Leah’s mum Tracy Christine and three of her friends are embarking on preparations for a sponsored climb of Ben Nevis in October, and are already half way to their target of £2000 from fundraising throughout the year.

You can follow them on their Facebook page Ben Nevis climb in aid of Epilepsy Scotland’. If you would like to donate to the charity you can do this online at www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/reach.
