Woman denies threats

APPEARING from custody at the sheriff court in Stranraer on Monday, a 41-year-old Stranraer woman pled guilty to behaving in a threatening manner last Saturday night.

Kirsty McKnight, of Flat 1, 12 Church Street, admitted shouting and swearing at Campbell Valentine on November 3 at her home.

McKnight denied a further charge of assaulting Mr Valentine by allegedly throwing a mobile phone at him, punching and kicking him, threatening him with a hammer and biting him on the body to his injury.

The accused will stand trial on January 9 next year.

Sheriff McClory deferred sentence on the first charge until that date.
