GARLIESTON will once again welcome the elegnamt vessel Balmoral to its harbour for its annual sailings to the Isle of Man in June and September.
And you could be in with a chance of winning free tickets for two adults and two children.
Spend the afternoon in Douglas, cruise the gorgeous Calf of Man or take a vintage steam railway trip through the beautiful island countryside.
The Balmoral will be sailing from Garlieston on June 14 and 17, and on September 12 and you can choose any of these dates when entering.
The Balmoral was built in Southampton in 1949 and operated under the Southampton Red Funnel Fleet for 20 years. She then moved round to the Bristol Channel where she became the last member of P&A Campbell’s famous White Funnel Fleet. When they ceased operation in 1980, the Balmoral moved to Dundee to become a floating restaurant, and there she stood, unsuccessful and gradually falling into disrepair, until she was rescued by the friends and supporters of the Waverley.
She returned to service in 1986 and to this day operates her main summer season in the Bristol Channel, offering day excursions to popular coastal resorts, as well as making visits to other ports and piers throughout the UK in spring and autumn, with millions of pounds having been spent on new engines and a major overhaul.
