Whithorn’s Christmas switch on

THE Christmas lights will be switched on in Whithorn tomorrow (Saturday, December 8) and the good news is there will be two trees this year!

The chairman of Whithorn Community Council Francis O’Neill announced that the town’s business Association and the community council’s Christmas lights committee had purchased the trees from the best Christmas tree growers in Britain - the Garrocher tree farm near Creetown.

The organisations were delighted that the costs involved were considerably less that the previous year allowing them to have one in the centre of the town and one at the top of the town.

There will be carol singing with pupils from Whithorn Primary School and refreshments on the night.
