Last Saturday, Whauphill senior citizens enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch prepared and cooked by the Whauphill Community Association members.

There was a festive feel to the day in the newly-decorated hall, with hot mulled fruit punch being served to folks to warm them up on their arrival on what was a cold and wet day. After lunch it was time to have some light entertainment, but not before a welcome vote of thanks was given to the association members for the excellent meal by former Association Member Mr Jimmy McKenzie.

The afternoon continued with a game of Play Your Cards Right and Mrs Linda Galloway acting as quiz master. There were many hilarious answers to the questions with one in particular being - what kind of horse don’t you look in the mouth? Answer should have been gift, however a certain Mr Steele thought it was rocking horse!

We hope to see you all again next year, and if you live within Whauphill community and are a lady aged 60 or over, or a gentleman aged 65 or over then please advise Mrs Vera Parker at Whauphill Post Office or the Secretary Mrs Dianne Hindle on 01988840277 so you don’t miss out.
