Friday 23 March: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Cinema, Newton Stewart.

British retirees travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly-restored hotel. Less luxurious than its advertisements, the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways, with friendships both forming and breaking apart.

Not a laugh-a-minute comedy, but rather a charming and thought-provoking reflection by those at a certain place in their lives.

Starring Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel, Celia Imrie, Penelope Wilton and Tom Wilkinson.

Sunday 25 March: An Open Afternoon at The Swallow Theatre, Moss Park, Ravenstone, Whithorn. 2pm - 5pm.

Join in celebrating the launch of the theatre’s 17th season. Look round the theatre, browse the collection of photos and programmes of the past, talk to David over tea, coffee and cakes and hear the tales of the Swallow.
