George Moore, a director of Montpelier Chartered Accountants, will be calculating his final totals as he retires after many years service.
George has been a director/partner in the practice based at Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart since the early 1970s and can recall memories of working in the office by candlelight during the power blackouts of the “three day week” in 1970s, and later the purchase of the first computer in the office.
Although George is retiring, he will continue to assist directors John Simpson and Lorna McMillan on a consultancy basis. This will allow the practice to continue to make use of George’s considerable experience, and also assist with client hand overs.
The office staff will all miss seeing George on a daily basis. They would like to pass on their best wishes to George and his wife for the future. There is a rumour that George will be entering “Gardener of the Year” next year.
