Volunteers clean up beach

Whithorn and District Business Association held its annual beach clean on Sunday.

A good turnout of volunteers, including committee members, members and local residents, swept the St Ninian’s Cave beach clean of debris.

The final count was 29 full plastic rubbish bags, plus plastic containers, rope, tyres and other large items.

And it was all done in windy and wet conditions, so special thanks to the volunteers, Chic Laing for driving the quad bike and to Johnston Stewart for use of the bike and the farm trailer, and to Dumfries and Galloway Council for providing bags and collection of the waste.
