Volunteers clean up

A group of volunteers from Whithorn and District Business Association held their yearly clearance of rubbish and litter from the roadsides in Kilsture Forest, gathering more than 30 large sacks of debris from the verges.

Most of the litter was thrown from cars, consisting of plastic bottles and non-biodegradable takeaway trays.

The association would like to plead with motorists not to throw litter out when driving through this local beauty spot.

Volunteers from the association will shortly be holding their annual clean-up of St Ninian’s Cave beach and helpers will be welcome. Details are yet to be confirmed and dates announced on www.whithorn.info.
