Trio assaulted man in Port

Three teenagers from Whithorn were all fined at the Stranraer Sheriff Court last week after pleading guilty to assaulting a man in Port William in 2011.

Nineteen-year-olds 
Deklan Jolly, 17 St Ninian’s Grove, Whithorn, and Craig Young, 40 St Ninian’s Street, Whithorn, pled guilty to assaulting John Ronald in The Square, Port William, by repeatedly punching him on the head and thereafter, the third accused, 17-year-old Liam Kennedy, 13 St Ninian’s Grove, Whithorn , admitted repeatedly punching Mr Ronald on the head, all to his injury.

The assaults took place on October 28 or 29, 2011.

Sentencing, Sheriff Kenneth Robb fined Jolly £300 and Young £450. Kennedy was fined £600 for his part in the assault.

The complainer, John Ronald, appeared this week after failing to appear at the court but he was admonished.
