The Bike Boys are coming to town

Newton Stewart will be hosting the only Street Motorcycle show in Scotland this summer on Sunday, August 7.

Up to 1000 motorbikes of all styles and ages will arrive in town for the day as part of the Wheelie Good Bike Show. Bike clubs are expected from across the UK and Ireland.

The day will start with a morning ‘ride-in,’ leaving New Galloway and travelling through to Newton Stewart, allowing participants to view the beautiful scenery through the hills and forests for which Dumfries and Galloway is quite rightly famed. This part of the event is ticket only and they are a limited number so book early to avoid disappointment. Victoria Street in Newton Stewart, will be closed from 9am until 6pm to display the bikes in their full glory and for people to be able to talk to the owners and other fans.

Scotspeed, the well known Dumfries bike and equipment supplier, will be bringing clothing and helmets along with demonstration bikes to tempt us. J & L Motorcycles of Carlisle will also be coming along to share their knowledge and love of all thing bike. Several biking organisations will be attending including the National Association of Bikers with Disabilities and Bike Safe to temper our need for speed with some common sense and safety advice.

To keep the rest of the family occupied, there will also be a market in the Riverside car-park, including a farmer’s market, crafts fair and stalls run by businesses from both the local area and further afield. This is going to be a great day out for all the family. Local businesses are excited to be involved in the day, which promises to be a large turnout, helping to boost their sales.
