Tea party raises charity funds

Marie Curie Machars Fundraising Group volunteers Jill Lyons and Alison Gibbon hosted their 4th Annual Blooming Great Tea Party at the Scent O Galloway in Newton Stewart! Jill and Alison were busy baking all the yummy home-baked cakes, and held a raffle with great prizes and of course teas and coffees. 'The tea party which took place on 17th July 2013,from3.30pm to  5:30pm. All proceeds from sales will support the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care. 'Jill Lyons, the owner of the Scent O Galloway said, "it's always a privilege to hold a tea party to support the excellent work that our Local Nursing are doing and knowing that the money we raise makes a huge impact locally and that the money is spent locally makes me really happy and glad to support such an excellent cause, I would like to thank all my customers and people who attended the event for helping us raise a grand total of �200 which will pay for 10 hours of free nursing care"
