The annual Kirkcudbright Tattoo and firework display will take place next Saturday, 23 August, on the town’s St Cuthbert Street and is set to once again pull close to 5,000 spectators for what is now an integral part of the town’s summer programme.
The event has even been known to draw visiting crowds from across the globe.
As the pipers and dancers warm up, The Imps Motor Cycle Display Team will keep the crowd entertained before a real taste of Scotland from awe-inspiring massed pipes and drums, Highland and country dancers and Robyn Stapleton - this year’s winner of BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year award.
Tickets are only £3 with pre-school children free, but with last year’s event selling out on the night, avoid disappointment and bag yours now. Arrive early for a good seat and see the lone piper’s haunting, floodlit performance from McLellan’s castle.
You can get your tickets at the Summer Festivities Charity Shop in Kirkcudbright, The Toffee Shop in Castle Douglas, The Star Hotel in Twynholm and securely online at ticketsource.co.uk/kirkcudbright.
